Steamed Fish Bangali Style Recipe

Recipe Ingredients

Fish 2 lb
Turmeric powder 1 level dessertspoon
Dry red chilies 3
Green chilies 6
Mustard seeds 1 heaped tsp
Mustard oil 2 tbsp
Salt to taste

Recipe Method

Wash and slice the fish or cut into large pieces.
Add salt and set aside.
Grind the turmeric, red chilies and mustard seeds with a tbsp of water to make a paste.
Slit the green chilies.
Mix together the fish, ground paste, oil and green chilies in a double boiler and steam for 10 minutes.
Uncover, turn the pieces of fish and steam again for 10 more minutes.
Serve with boiled rice.
