ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan Wednesday ended his sit-in after staging it the country’s capital for 126 days in the backdrop of, what he said, the security challenges being faced by the country.

Addressing the participants of his sit-in, he said Pakistan’s prevailing circumstances today demand that its nation stands united.

He said during today’s national parties meeting, the Corps Commander Peshawar gave a detailed briefing and informed that even forces outside our borders are also involved in posing a security threat to Pakistan.

Shortly after Imran Khan’s announcement, the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lauded the decision of Imran Khan to end his sit-in.

The Premier said Imran Khan’s step will provide a boost to the Pakistan’s resolve to fight against terrorism.

PM Nawaz Sharif assured that Imran Khan’s reservations in connection with the last year’s elections would be properly addressed.

“The entire nation will fight together against terrorism and emerge triumphant,” he said.

Earlier, PTI held its core committee meeting to decided whether or not to end the sit-in.
