Chinese Beef and Chillie



Ingredients
1-Beef (steak or cubes) 1/2 kg
2-Green chillies 12 medium
3-Large size Onions 2 medium size
4-Cornflour 1/4 cup
5-Chicken stock/soup 2-1/2 cups
6-Oil 1/4 cup
7-Chicken powder 1 tsp (teaspoon)
8-Vinegar 1/4 cup
9-Ordinary salt 1/2 tsp
10-Soya sauce 1/4 cup
11-Wostershire sauce 1 tbsp
12-Spring onion for garnish
Method
1-Thinly slice beef into approximately 1/2 inch, rectangular bitesize pieces.
2-Boil these pieces with water and some salt.
3-Use enough water to cook the meat until tender (the water should dry up).
4-Do not add too much water or cook the meat too long.
5-While the meat is boiling, peel and cut the onions into cubes.
6-Cut chillies into half lenghtwise and remove the seeds with the tip of a knife.
7-Make a paste of cornflour with 1 cup of water.
8-Heat oil and fry the beef pieces until slightly brown on medium heat.
9-Add onion and chillies, frying a little after each addition.
10-Add chicken powder, ordinary salt, vinegar, soya sauce,wostershire sauce and the chickenstock/soup cooking for 2 minutes.
11-Before serving bring to boil, add cornflour paste very slowly, stirring to keep lumps from forming.
12-Cook for a minute on medium heat for few minutes.
13-Garnish with spring onion.Serve hot with rice.
