INGREDIENTS
250 Urud grams
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1/4 tsp Saffron strands
1 tbfsp Milk
100 grams Butter
1/2 tsp each of Garam masala and powdered Cumin seeds
1 piece Ginger
Salt and Chilli powder to taste
125 grams Tomatoes
6 Mint leaves (slIced)
1 handful Coriander leaves
1/2 cup Cream
1/2 cup curd (beaten)
25 grams each of Almonds Pistachios and Raisins (fried and slIced)
silver or gold fOil
METHOD
After adding the turmeric powder, cook the daal in water until soft and dry. Dissolve the saffron in a thIsp of hot milk. Melt the butter, adding garam masala, cumin, ginger, salt and chilli powder. Cook for I minute. Add, the tomatoes, mint and coriander leaves and cook till dry Mix in the dial, cream and curd and cook till the mixture turns thick. Add the nuts and raisins and remove from fire. Place in a serving dish, sprinkle saffron all over the top and cover with foil.
