Recipe Ingredients
Fish fillet 1 kg
Rice 2 ½ cups
Yogurt 1 cup
Oil 1 cup
A pinch of yellow color
Onions 4 sliced
Lemons 4
Green chilies 6 sliced
Mint 1 bunch
Milk ½ cup
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
All spices powder 1 tsp
Ground white cumin 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Whole coriander 2 tbsp
White vinegar 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Recipe Method
Brush fish fillet with white vinegar and put aside for nearly 10 minutes.
Then add turmeric and salt to the fish.
In a cooking pot, heat oil and sauté sliced onions until they turn golden brown.
Add yogurt, ginger garlic paste, red chili paste, all spices powder, juice of lemons and turmeric powder to half of the sautéed onion and stir fry.
Shallow fry fish in a separate pan and when fish is a nice golden brown, shift it to the spices mix.
Then add a bunch of sliced mint and sliced green chilies and allow simmering for 5 minutes.
Boil rice with mint, all spices powder and green chilies until half cooked.
Make a layer of half of the rice then fish with spices, mint, green chilies and lemon juice.
Now layer remaining rice.
Dissolve a pinch of yellow color in milk and pour over rice.
Allow simmering until pot is covered with steam.
Remaining fried crispy onion and serve.
