Ingredients
1/2 cup water
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder-optional
1 large egg
1/4 tsp salt
4 tbs/50 g butter
1 tsp vanilla essence
Oil for frying
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup caster sugar
For the chocolate sauce:
1/4 cup whipping cream
200 g semi sweet chocolate
Directions
Put water, salt, butter in a pan, bring to a boil.
Remove from heat, add sifted flour+baking powder(if using) in it all at once.Then mix well with a wooden spoon until smooth, let it cool slightly, add egg & vanilla essence mix with wooden spoon until dough form.
Put the batter in pipping bag/strong plastic bag fitted with a large star tip(don't use any other tip or the batter will explode)
Squeeze the batter into the hot oil, cutting it with scissors.
Deep fry in oil on medium heat for about 4-5 minute/until golden in color.
In the meanwhile, Combine ground cinnamon & caster sugar in a ziplock bag, Add churros( while they are still warm) shake until thoroughly coated/in a small bowl add cinnamon & sugar shake in fried churros.
Chocolate sauce:
In a pan heat 1/4 cup milk or cream n bring to a boil. Turn off heat n pour over chopped 200g chocolate, let it rest for 1-2 minutes, then stir to make smooth sauce. Work quickly to mix.
