Recipe Ingredients
1 Chicken (into pieces)
1 1/2 cups Clarified Butter
4 Onion minced
1 kilo Minced Mutton
2 cups Curd
1/2 kilo Rice
10 fried Almond (sliced)
pinch Saffron
1 Cinnamon
5 Bay Leaf
8 Cardamoms
8 Cloves
10 Garlic
13 Pepper corns
1 piece Ginger
1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
1/2 tbsp Cumin Seed Powder
1 tbsp Coriander Seeds Powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric
Recipe Method
In a grinder grind garlic, ginger, chilli powder, coriander, turmeric and cumin powder to a fine paste.
Heat 5 tbsp of clarified butter and fry onions till brown.
Add half of the whole spices and add chicken and mince meat and let it brown.
Add ground spices and fry for a few minutes
Add two cups of water, cover and cook till chicken is tender.
Beat curd with saffron and add to chicken.
Cook for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and keep aside.
Heat remaining clarified butter and fry bay leaves and remaining whole spices in it.
Add onions and fry till brown.
Add rice and fry till brown.
Make a layer of rice and another layer of meat.
Repeat with two more layer.
Garnish with almonds.
Serve hot.
