Red Beans and Beef Rice Recipe



Ingredients

Red beans 1 cup
Meat ½ kg
Rice 2 cups
Salt As per taste
Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tbsp
Onion 2 medium
Capsicum 1
Black Pepper ground ½ tsp
Soya Sauce 2 tbsp
Vinegar 2 – 3 tbsp
Dalda Olive Oil 4 tbsp

Directions

Finely slice undercut beef, marinate with salt, ginger garlic, black pepper, vinegar and soya sauce
Wash and soak red beans in 3 cups warm water for an hour. Boil water on medium heat. When the water starts to boil, slow down the flame and cook red beans till they are tender well – but not mushy
Wash and soak rice for 20 minutes, boil in salty water for 10 – 12 minutes and strain from water
Put Dalda Olive Oil in a big frying pan, first fry sliced onion light golden and then add marinated meat in it. When meant becomes golden, add boiled beans and fry for 2 – 3 minutes
Add boil rice and chopped capsicum, fry for a couple of minutes and cover. Simmer on low heat for 5 – 7 minutes.

Ingredients

Boiled chic piece 1 ½ cup
Baked beans 1 tin
Red kidney beans 1 tin
Onion 1 cup chopped
Green chilies chopped 4
Tomato 1 cut into cubes, seeds removed
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Curry leaves 15
Salt 1 tsp
Crushed red pepper 1 tsp
Coriander seeds roasted and grinded 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds roasted and grinded 1 tsp
Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
Chat masala 1 tsp
Khatai powder 1 tsp
Potatoes 1 large cubed and boiled
Kahatti methi chatni ¾ cup

Method

Heat oil add curry leaves and chopped onion, stir for two minutes, add all the above seasonings with beans, boiled chic piece, boiled potatoes, mix all well add imli chatni, serve garnished with chopped greens and tomatoes.

Recipe Ingredients

3 Boneless Chicken Breasts, Skin Removed, Cut Into 1 1/2 Inch Pieces
3 Stalks Of Celery, Chopped
2 Large Carrots, Chopped
1 Small Onion, Chopped
2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
4 to 5 Cups Chicken Broth
3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
1 Bunch Fresh, Chopped Parsley
1 Hot Chile Pepper, Finely Chopped (Optional)
3 Cups Cooked Cannelloni Beans (Or Other White Beans)
1/4 To 1/3 Cup Instant Polenta
Salt & Pepper

Recipe Method

In a heavy pot, heat the oil, and then once it is hot, add the chicken pieces, and cook until the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
Remove the chicken to a bowl, and add the vegetables to the pot, and cook until they are just beginning to soften.
Add the broth, and seasonings, and cook for 30 minutes over low heat.
Add the chicken, beans, and parsley, and taste.
Adjust the seasonings as needed, and cook then add 1/4 cup of the polenta to thicken.
Continue to cook, stirring often, until the soup has thickened, adding a little more polenta if needed.
Serve hot with garnish of choice.

Daal (Split Bean) Soup Recipe

Recipe Ingredients

Mung Daal – 1 cup
Broth/Stock (Chicken or Vegetable) – 4 cups
Onion – 1, medium (chopped)
Tomato – 1, medium (chopped)
Green Beans – ¼ cup (chopped)
Cauliflower – ½ cup (chopped)
Frozen Carrots & Peas – ½ cup
Ginger – 1 tsp (minced)
Garlic – 1 tsp (minced)
Green Chili – to taste
Salt – to taste
Oil – 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp
Curry Leaves – 1 sprig
Lime juice – to taste
Cilantro – for garnishing (finely chopped)
Green Chili – for garnishing (finely chopped)
Fried Onions – for garnishing

Recipe Method

1. Wash and drain the Mung Daal.
2. In a pressure cooker, add the following – Mung Daal, Broth (3 cups), Onions, carrots & peas, Ginger, Garlic, Tomatoes, Cauliflower, Green Beans, Green Chili and Salt.
3. Mix well and let it whistle 2 times. Turn the stove off and let the pressure release by itself.
4. Once the pressure has gone, open and mix well.
5. In needed, transfer the Daal to a bigger pot.
6. Add in the balance of the Stock.
7. Blend well using a handblender or a blender.
8. Add Lime/Lemon Juice to taste.
9. For the seasoning, take a pan, add in the Oil and heat.
10.Add in the Mustard Seeds and allow them to splutter.
11.Wash the Curry Leaves and place on the Daal.
12.Pour the seasoning over the Curry Leaves.
13.Mix well and allow it to come to another boil.
14. Pour into soup bowls and serve.
15. For this soup, garnishings are very important. So garnish with Lemon/Lime Juice, Cilantro, Green Chilis and/or Fried Onions.
